Dear Friend, design of steel structures is as simple as design of RCC structures, All you need to do is to practice as much as u can and will be better if you join a design firm.
For the design of steel strictures two methods are used :-
1. Working Stress Design
2. Ultimate Stress Design (Preferred one)
The codes that are fallowed are AISC etc
