Inclined columns will be subjected to axial compression in addition to bending (additional moments may arise due to self-weight and also additional shear forces due to the inclination). Analyze the frame with inclined columns in the usual way and arrive at forces in such members. Then design the column for the combined axial force and bending moments. Detailing at the places where it is starting to incline may be important (in concrete, stirrups at closer spacing may be required and in steel, gussets may be provided). It is preferable that the inclination is not more than 30% to the vertical. It may also be important to tie the columns at top and bottom to take the horizontal loads.
